ARRIVAL/ YEREVAN CITY TOUR

City Tour around Yerevan- the capital of the Republic of Armenia. Having a history of almost 2800 years, Yerevan is a modern city with high rise buildings, nice cafes and parks. It’s a combination of reach history and a modern lifestyle. Yerevan City was originally designated so that it overlooked the biblical Mount Ararat, and indeed the Holy Mount can be seen from every corner of the capital.
You will see all major sights of the capital including Opera house, Republic Square, Kievyan Bridge, Baghramyan Avenue, the Presidential Palace, Academy of Sciences, National Parliament as well as "Cat statue" by famous sculptor Fernando Botero at the Cascade area; enjoy the panoramic view of Yerevan etc.
Visit to the History Museum, where 400000 items and artifacts witness about ancinet armenian civilization. Continue to the Genoside Museum and Memorial, erected to commemorate the Massacre of 1. 500. 000 Armenians by Ottomans. The Genocide museum houses a great amount of information and evidence on the Genocide of 1915.

3rd DAY
YEREVAN / ECHMIADZIN / ZVARTNOTS / YEREVAN

Departure to Echmiadzin, the religious center of the country and the patriarchal seat of the Armenian Catholicos. Etchmiadzin Cathedral- the oldest state-built church in the world. According to the legend, Jesus Christ descended from heaven and indicated the spot for a church to be built. The cathedral dates back to 301, the year when Armenia first in the world adopted Christianity as a state religion. Continue to the ruins of Zvartnots, a prominent work of Armenian architecture(641-662). Which was destroyed in an earthquake in the 10th century.

4th DAY
YEREVAN / KHOR-VIRAP / NORAVANK / YEREVAN

Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure to Khor Virap, which is translated into Armenian as a Deep Pit. Here in the deep pit St. Gregory the Illuminator was kept imprisoned for 13 years. But after curing the king from a grave malady he was set free and persuaded the kind to adopt Christianity as a state religion (301A. D. ). It is situated in the Ararat valley against the Biblical Mount Ararat, were Noah's arch cast anchor. You will have a great opportunity to take pictures and enjoy unrepeatable view of Mount Ararat.
Continue to the monastery complex of Noravank (5-13th cc), erected on a breathtaking site, on brick-red cliffs of Amaghu canyon. It has reach decoration both in internal and in external parts. On your way to Noravank your will see beautiful Colorful mountains and landscapes.
On the way to Noravank visit Areni Wine factory for wine tasting made of local grape types.

5th DAY

YEREVAN / SAGHMOSAVANK / OHANAVANK / KARMRAVOR / YEREVAN

Departure to the 13th century monastery of Saghmosavank, che the name of which is translated into English as “a monastery of psalms”. Another beautiful monastery is located non far from it - the monastery of Ohanavank. These two sites are erected on the edge of Kasakh River gorge. Departure to one of the smallest churches in the territory of Armenia, the 7th century Karmravor. Drive back to Yerevan.

DAY 6
YEREVAN / SEVAN / DILIJAN / GOSHAVANK / YEREVAN

Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure to mountain Lake Sevan, situated at the altitude of 2000 meters above the sea level. Lake Sevan is the largest alpine high mountain freshwater lake in the Caucasus region and in Armenia Highland. It is impossible to imagine the island of Sevan (currently a peninsula) without the Sevan Monastery 9th C, a perfect example of a man-made testimony of faith complementing the surrounding divine nature. According to the historical records, the Monastery was built in 874. You can enjoy unrepeatable scenery to Armenian pearl- Sevan and take memorable pictures.
Continue to 12th century Goshavank Monastery, which once was an important religious and educational center. On the way to Goshavank you pass through the resort town of Armenia, the green town of Dilijan. Drive back to Yerevan.

DAY 7
YEREVAN / GARNI / GEGHARD / MATENADARAN / YEREVAN
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure to the pagan temple of Garni (1st century), a vivid example of Hellenistic culture in Armenia, which used to be a summerhouse for Armenian kings and queens for many centuries. Continutation to the cave monastery of Geghard. In this monastery the holy Spear, which the roman soldier killed Gesus with, was kept here and later transfered to the Museum of Treasures of Echmiadzin.
Visit Matenadaran (http://www. matenadaran. am)- is an ancient manuscript repository located in Yerevan, Armenia. It holds one of the world's richest depositories of medieval manuscripts and books.
Vernisage open-air handicraft market where you can buy souvenirs in remembrance of your trip to Armenia on Saturdays and Sundays.
Overnight in Yerevan.

Departure home.
