In the far west of Tibet is Mt Kailash (6714m), the most sacred mountain in Asia, which is venerated by Buddhists, Hindus, Jains and the ancient Bon religion of Tibet. It is an important site for pilgrims who make 52km circuit, or kora of the mountain conquering a 5630m pass with some gorgeous mountain scenery along this trek including close ups of the majestic pyramidal Mt. Kailash. This circumambulation, clockwise for Buddhists and Hindus and anti-clockwise for Bon followers, is said to erase the sins of a lifetime. The mountain itself is 6714m high and with its four sheer walls and snow capped peak is an awe-inspiring sight and a trek here wonderfully integrates the spiritual, cultural and physical dimensions of any trip to Tibet. This Tour takes us to Kathmandu-Lhasa-Gyantse-Shigatse-Shigar-Mt. Everest Base Camp-Saga-Lhatse-Lhasa-Kathmandu.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival KATHMANDU (1300m/4265ft): Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport where you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore this historic and vibrant city.

Day 2 KATHMANDU–NYLAM. (3750m)Drive from Kathmandu to Kodari which is 114 km from Kathmandu takes 05-06hrs. to Nyalam (30 kms form Zhangmu takes 2 hrs uphill drive. )

Day 3 NYALAM Rest day for acclimatization

Day 4 NYALAM – SAGA(4560M) After breakfast our journey start to Saga which is 06-08 hrs drive, 4050 m in elevation

Day 5 SAGA –MANASAROVAR. (4650M) Early morning drive to Manasorovar which takes drive, 4558m in elevation

Day 6 MANASAROVAR – DARCHEN(4670M). Explore Lake Manasorovar in the morning and drive to Darchen which is 1 hour drive and, 4, 560 m in elevation

Day 7 Start trek from Darchen to Dirapuk(4890m)(4-5 hrs)

Day 8 Continue trek Dirapuk to Zutulpuk(4790m)(5-6 hrs)

Day 9 Continue trek Zutulpuk to Darchen and drive to Manasarovar

Day 10Drive from Manasarovar to Saga

Day 11 Drive from Saga to Lhatse (3760m)

Day 12 Lhatse to Shigatse(3900m) We move on to Shigatse, Tibet’s second largestcity, which is about 145 km away.

Day 13 Drive from Shigatse to Gyantse(3950m) Before departing from Shigatse you will be taken for a guided Tour to Tashilunpo Monastery and drive to Shigatse.

Day 14 Drive from Gyatse to Lhasa(3600m) Before departing from Gyantse, you will be taken for a guided Tour to Gyantse Dzong and Gyantse Kumbum. The Dzong is a 14th century fort, from where you get amazing views of Gyantse and the surrounding Nyang Chu Valley. The Kumbum is a large gold-domed stupa. It has many small chapels which houses an impressive array of Tibetan Buddhist murals. We move on to Lhasa Tibet’s first largest city, which is about 320 km away.

Day 15 Full day Sightseeing Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery

Day 16 Full day Sightseeing Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple , Barkhor Bazar

Day 17 Drive to Gongar Airport or Train Station and Departure flight or train to your destination
